If you’re looking for an appealing gluten free dessert spot in Central London; Cream Dream in Soho is the best place to go. Trust me, as someone who has tried many gluten free desserts across London, this place really does stand out from the crowd.
I went there in January of 2026 with my family. Having eaten a very delicious lunch at Royal China in Baker Street, where we stuffed ourselves with dim sum and crispy duck, I could think of nothing more than ending the meal with something sweet.
My stomach was pretty full, but as any dessert lover knows, there is always room for something sugary. A quick google search later, and we very quickly realised that Cream Dream wasn’t far.
It was only a short drive away, which felt like a sign that it was meant to be. And so, in the sat nav went the address, and off we went. The excitement in the car was building up, especially from me, because finding a fully gluten free dessert place in London is like finding buried treasure.
Cream Dream Soho Review
Tucked away down a cute little alleyway, was what seemed to be like heaven. Seriously, if heaven had an address, it would be this little alleyway in Soho. I couldn’t simply couldn’t believe my eyes. The shop front was so inviting that it practically pulled us in off the street. The first thing that hit me when I walked in was the smell of fresh desserts. It was the kind of smell that wraps around you like a warm blanket and makes your mouth water instantly. If someone could bottle that smell and sell it as a perfume, they would make millions.
The Design

The place is covered in all things pink. The floor had pink tiles, the walls were painted pink and there was even a huge pink cake on a stand, tempting passersby to drift in. There were pink lights, pink decorations, and I’m pretty sure if they could have painted the ceiling pink too, they would have done it.
It was like stepping inside a giant candy floss cloud. Even the napkins and the cups were pink. My dad joked that he had never seen so much pink in one place in his entire life, and honestly, I think he was right. But it didn’t feel over the top at all. It just made the whole place feel fun, cheerful and exciting, which is exactly what a dessert shop should feel like.
It Was Packed !!!
The tables were crowded with people so we could tell this was a good place to go. There were families with young children, groups of friends laughing and sharing plates of cakes, and couples taking photos of their desserts for Instagram. Everyone looked so happy, and you could hear the buzz of excited chatter all around the room. The whole upstairs was even full too! We had to wait a little bit for a table, but honestly, I didn’t mind one bit because it gave me more time to stare at all the desserts in the display counter and plan what I was going to order.
The one specific reason I came to Cream Dream is because everything there is coeliac friendly and I am gluten free. This is such a big deal for me because when you are gluten free, going out for dessert can sometimes be really frustrating. Most places will have one or two gluten free options tucked away in the corner of the menu, and sometimes they don’t even taste that great.
But at Cream Dream, I didn’t have to worry about any of that. Every single thing in the shop was safe for me to eat, which meant I could choose absolutely anything I wanted. I didn’t have to ask the staff a hundred questions or feel like I was being a bother. I could just be a normal kid in a dessert shop, picking whatever caught my eye. That feeling alone made the whole experience so special.
The Treats

As I went up to the counter I saw a variety of different desserts, from cakes to eclairs. There were towering slices of chocolate cake, delicate little tarts topped with fresh berries, cookies the size of my hand, creamy cheesecakes, and colourful macarons lined up in neat little rows. Everything was there that I could possibly imagine. It was genuinely overwhelming trying to decide, because every single thing looked absolutely incredible. I must have stood at that counter for a good five minutes, going back and forth, before I finally made my decision.
The Eclair
I bought a vanilla eclair which tasted so delicious, it was like trying chocolate for the very first time. The pastry was light and crispy on the outside but soft and airy on the inside, and the vanilla cream filling was smooth, rich and perfectly sweet. Every single bite was better than the last. I simply couldn’t get enough of it.
I probably could have eaten these eclairs all day. I kept looking back at the counter, wondering if I could sneak in a second order without anyone noticing. Thankfully, my dear mother was there to STOP me. She gave me that look that all mothers give when they know you are about to do something you shouldn’t, and I knew that one eclair was going to have to be enough for today.
My family also ordered a few other things and everything was just as delicious. The chocolate cake was rich and moist, and the berry tart was fresh and tangy with a perfectly crumbly base. We all agreed that you really cannot tell the difference between these desserts and regular ones with gluten. That is the sign of a truly brilliant bakery.
In Conclusion
The staff at Cream Dream were also really lovely. They were friendly, patient and happy to explain what was in each dessert. You could tell they were passionate about what they do, and that makes such a difference when you are eating somewhere.
I’ve decided that the next time I go to Soho, I will most definitely be coming back to Cream Dream. In fact, I might even try to convince my family to make a special trip just for this place. Perhaps, when my mother isn’t looking, the next time I’ll order more than one treat. Maybe two eclairs, or an eclair and a slice of cake, or honestly, maybe one of everything. A boy can dream, can’t he?
